Administration for the Standard fire situation The majority of Nature Conservancy burns are conducted under the standard situation, that is, when Conservancy Representatives burn on Conservancy land. The most common example is a Conservancy staff person serving as burn boss with a crew of seasonal employees. Nature Conservancy lands include fee ownership, leased lands, or easements, i.e. lands that grant the organization management rights. In these situations, the standard requirements, guidelines and procedures apply, as outlined in this Manual. While the burn operation is carried out entirely by Conservancy Representatives, partners may be involved in planning and monitoring the burn and still have it fall under the standard situation.
